Pest control

The Pest Control service at the District of Easington undertakes treatments for rats and mice at domestic and commercial premises. Treatments are also available for a number of insects including wasps, fleas and bedbugs. We can also provide pest control contract work at commercial premises.

All our Pest Control Officers have nationally recognised qualifications in pest control.

About this service

We will only treat for mice if they are inside your property.

What happens next?

We aim to respond to all requests for service concerning rats and mice within 24 hours.  We will arrange an appointment for an initial visit. The initial visit will survey the extent of any problem.

The Pest Control Officer who visits will discuss the findings of their survey and offer advice on appropriate action. If treatment with pesticides is recommended and you agree to the work you will be advised of any health and safety considerations and a full risk assessment will be carried out.

Written information about the recommended action and any pesticide will also be left with you. It is very important that any poison is left undisturbed.

What are the charges for this service?

At the moment this service is free to all domestic premises and a competitive rate is charged for all commercial properties.
