Easington Community Safety Partnership (CSP) will be holding Community Awareness events around Seaham and Easington next week.

The first event will be held at Easington Welfare Hall on Monday, 3 March from 10am to 4pm.

The BlitzBus will also be parked from 10am  to 4pm at the following locations:

Tuesday, 4 March The Mallard, Seaham
Wednesday, 5 March Welfare Hall, Easington
Thursday, 6 March The Avenue, Deneside
Friday, 7 March  Oak Road, Easington.

Residents are welcome to come on board to find out about issues ranging from anti-social behaviour and crime prevention to reducing the risk of fire in their home.

Representatives from Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue, the Police, Crime Prevention unit, Neighbourhood Watch, District of Easington Council street wardens and East Durham Homes will be on hand to answer any queries or offer advice.

Everyone who visits the bus will receive a free timer switch to help deter intruders and there will also be the chance to sign up for a free smoke alarm and a free fire safety check on your home.

Steve Arkley, Chairman of the CSP, said: “Everyone is welcome to come along to find out what we do and to get general advice.

“Representatives from all the participating organisations will also be available to help residents deal with any specific issues that may be causing problems in their neighbourhood.”
